The Bridge Center Programs
The Bridge Center operates two programs to care for people with mental illness and substance abuse challenges.
Pilot Pre-trial Release Program: People who are mentally ill or have substance abuse challenges are placed in treatment when they are arrested for nonviolent crimes. Such programs have proven to reduce expensive incarceration and return people to productive lives.
THE PHONE: It's a crisis intervention line that has operated since 1970. Each year, THE PHONE answers calls for help from more than 15,000 people across the region. The service has saved thousands of people from committing suicide since its inception. The service is offered by The Bridge Center through VIALINK.
